"My collection, that‘s me - my childhood, my friends, my role models, what I enjoy, what moves me. Pictures from my journey: ‘At home I‘m a tourist‘,“ says collector Selim Varol about his exhibition „Art & Toys“ at the me Collectors Room Berlin.
From vinyl toys and other figures to posters and paintings: One can find dozens of different artworks in the collectors space in Berlin Mitte. Dictators shown as Barbie‘s boyfriend Ken, printed Mona Lisas with Marge Simpsons hairstyle and colorful skate deck designs give an insight of the versatile world of art and toys. With and without a political background: The exhibition presents more than 3,000 creative pieces from more than 200 artists. Famous street artists like Banksy and Stash, fashion designer like John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood or photographers like Terry Richardson and Hedi Slimane are only a few of the big names whose art is represented at the exhibition.
